1. What is a microschool? A microschool, like Go & Grow, is a small educational community serving anywhere from 5-50 students. It focuses on personalized learning, flexible teaching methods, and a customized curriculum designed to meet each child’s unique needs. 2. How is a microschool different from a traditional school? Microschools like Go & Grow provide smaller class sizes, individualized attention, and flexibility in teaching approaches. They prioritize hands-on, project-based learning and adapt to students’ individual learning styles and goals. 3. Who are microschools or tutoring services best for? Go & Grow and other microschools/tutoring services are ideal for students who thrive in small, supportive environments. They are especially beneficial for children who need extra academic support, have learning differences, or seek enrichment beyond traditional schooling. 4. What subjects are covered? Our programs cover core subjects including math, reading, writing, and science. Go & Grow also offers enrichment in areas like art, music, STEM, and character building. 5. Do you support students with learning differences or special needs? Yes! We specialize in helping students with ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and other learning differences. Our educators provide personalized instruction and accommodations to ensure every child can succeed. 6. How do you track student progress? Progress is measured through ongoing assessments, personalized learning goals, and teacher feedback. We prioritize growth over grades, emphasizing skill mastery and confidence building. You can request parent-teacher conferences any time you want! 7. How is tutoring different from microschooling? Tutoring focuses on specific academic challenges or goals, often in one-on-one or small group sessions. Microschooling provides a more comprehensive educational experience, similar to school but in a smaller, more customized environment. 8. What is the student-to-teacher ratio? Go & Grow typically maintain a ratio of 5:1 to 10:1, ensuring every student gets the attention they need. Tutoring sessions are often one-on-one or in small groups (no more than 3:1). 9. What are the costs for microschools or tutoring? Costs vary depending on the program and services offered. Microschool tuition is comparable to private schools and can be paid on a monthly or quarterly basis over a 12-month period, while tutoring is usually charged hourly. Although we are a smaller group, the students become pretty tight-knit and we encourage an atmosphere of teamwork. Our students learn how to socialize in a highly monitored environment to ensure they’re having positive and healthy socializing experiences. 11. What about sports/PE? Per MCA 20-5-112, public schools cannot prohibit nonpublic school students from participating in extracurricular activities and sports, so long as certain requirements are met. There are also sport options within our homeschool community in Great Falls. In addition, we strive to incorporate movement and physical activity in our microschool programs throughout the day, depending on the program your child is in. 12. Are you accredited? Since we are not an “institution,” and our families register as homeschoolers, accreditation is not necessary nor required by the state. However, we do strive to align with Montana K-12 Content Standards to allow for transitioning in and out of the public system and ensure they are reaching grade-level proficiency. 13. How can I find the right program for my child? The best way is to schedule a consultation with us. You can come in and see the building, meet the staff and directors and talk about your child’s needs. We work with families from all walks of life and there are many combinations of services we can arrange to tailor to your family’s needs.
